Welcome to Well Rooted Being!

I’m Havala - a farmer, yoga teacher, health coach, cook and baker living in the old, low, and lovely mountains of Appalachia. “Well Rooted Being” reflects my belief that our health depends on the depth and breadth of our connections - to the soil, to our own inner wisdom, and to each other.

This blog is a series of reflections on moments in everyday life that help me feel rooted, connected, capable, and present. Alongside these observations, you’ll find occasional yoga practices, guided meditations, and plant-forward recipes.

Free subscribers to this blog have access to the full text of all posts along with selected post audio, video, and recipe PDFs.

Paid subscribers have access to a consolidated one-stop movement/meditation/recipe library along with my gratitude for helping me spend more time doing what I love.

Prefer to listen? You can also find the feed for the audio version of this blog on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or by using the RSS feed to connect to your audio listening app of choice.

If you feel nourished by what you find here and are interested in digging a little deeper, I also work one-on-one with individuals seeking support for their personal well-being through coaching and tailored mind-body practices. If that sounds like you, or if you’d like to learn more, you can message me:

Or navigate to my website, where you can also find my yoga teaching schedule and any retreats/special offerings:

You can also find audio for guided meditations on InsightTimer and Bandcamp and yoga/meditation/the occasional farm sunrise on YouTube. Listening and watching on these platforms is free; donations gratefully accepted.

Thanks again for being here - and be well.
